Garden renovation and replanting in Bath

Tired or overgrown gardens brought back to life, with planting chosen for shade, slope and poor drainage.

Keep what works. Bring back the rest

Sophie has spent fourteen years maintaining, replanting, renovating and redesigning gardens across the South West, so a renovation starts with knowing what is worth keeping.

Some gardens need a single transformation, like the small garden we changed from an open patio into a private retreat. Others are best renovated gradually: one large country garden near Bath was brought back over several years, border by border.

Typical renovation work

  • Restoring and replanting herbaceous borders
  • Reinstating paths and garden structure
  • Replanting for shade, slopes and poor drainage
  • Evergreen hedging and screening for privacy
  • Low-maintenance planting with interest all year

From one tired border to a whole estate

Borders

Overgrown herbaceous borders cleared, improved and replanted with colour and structure.

Paths and structure

Lost or broken paths reinstated so the garden can be walked and enjoyed again.

Problem conditions

Planting chosen for the site you have: shade, steep slopes or ground that stays wet.

Privacy

Evergreen hedging and screening to turn an overlooked space into somewhere secluded.

Lower maintenance

Planting that gives interest all year without needing constant work.

Phased work

Larger gardens renovated in stages, over several seasons, as time and budget allow.
