A small, overlooked garden changed from an open patio with no privacy and little planting into a secluded garden to sit and grow in.
The brief
Privacy, somewhere to grow vegetables, and planting that looks good all year without much upkeep.
What we did
New evergreen hedging gives privacy all year. A gravel path with stepping stones leads through the new planting to a bespoke raised bed, made by Ed of the Woods, for growing vegetables.
The planting
Herbaceous and shrub planting for low maintenance and interest in every season: hydrangeas, soft grasses and variegated holly standards, with hardy geraniums along the path.
